I previously studied at Oregon State University in Corvallis, Oregon. There I completed two Bachelor's degrees, one in German and the other in History. There was no requirement to select a historical focus in my program; however, I tended towards American history. I'm happy to now be a part of the Global History program and look forward to expanding my horizons to the international stage. 

My current research interests are international relations (i.e. international law and institutions), borders, and power dynamics (e.g. hard and soft power and their expressions). Environmental history is another field that has caught my attention, and I hope to take the environment into consideration as I look at the past through the lens of global history in addition to the many other factors that global historians seek to include.
