Master Global History
Room A 391
14195 Berlin
We receive several emails on a daily basis and since it takes a lot of time to answer them carefully, we would appreciate it if you could take a moment and read all the information on our website before contacting us. Consider our FAQs on 1. the Application Process or 2. the Program, too.
If you still can't find a satisfying answer to your question there, then please don't hesitate to contact us and we will be happy to assist you.
Please note the following:
Unfortunately, we cannot answer any enquiries regarding the formal application process via Freie Universität and/or uni assist (e.g. necessary documents, certification etc.), as applications are handled by a different department. Please, contact the FU’s admission office, or info-service@fu-berlin.de.
Office hours
Sometimes it is easier for students to come and speak to us during office hours, for more complex enquiries or those that are better discussed in person, in addition to sorting out the administration of forms. Please read the below information carefully.
Global History Team: Online & In-Person Topics: Please direct all queries regarding your studies, including the course plan and the FU's class registration system (Campus Management). Prospective students are also welcome in these office hours for more complex enquiries, however only if they have first contacted us via email beforehand and we have confirmed this. These are drop in office hours, meaning current MA Global History students do not need to make an appointment or let us know you are coming (see more information on this below). In both online and in-person office hours, you may need to wait until our team is available to speak with you in the virutal/ in person waiting room. Tuesdays during the Semester teaching period (April 14- July 19th 2025) dates outside of this will be listed on the website from July. Office hours are held on Tuesdays: 13:00-14:00 online via webex: https://fu-berlin.webex.com/meet/prmcssdcq1v56s. Please wait in the virtual waiting room and we will see you as soon as possible. 14:00-15:00 in-person, Room 252 at the Friedrich Meinecke Institute (FMI). Feel free to knock on the office door - but you may need to wait if we are seeing another student. How to find Room 252: Go through the main entrance of the Freidrich-Meinecke Institute and through the glass doors. Then, go through the door to the left of the Horse skeleton and up the stairs - the office is located on the second floor. We will usually keep the door propped open for you to enter this floor - if I am speaking to someone beforehand, please wait in the waiting room and I’ll speak to you as soon as possible. If you have any accessibility issues reaching the office, please let us know beforehand and we can make arrangements for an accessible meeting: globalhistory@fu-berlin.de Preparing for Office Hours: If you are hoping to discuss the organisation of your courses including registration or deregistration, or organising your campus management, or your general progress in your degree, then it is helpful if beforehand you can send us either a screenshot of your campus management ‘Noten & Punkte’ page in full, or a PDF of your full Leistungsübersicht (also available on campus management). This just means we can support your enquiry more quickly on the day. Please note: it is not possible to drop into our office anytime for enquiries due to limited working hours. Please come to office hours, or contact our team via email to discuss an issue. |
Minu Haschemi Yekani, Program Director: Online Online counseling appointments are available at various times.
