Rasmus Platz studied Area Studies for his bachelor’s degree at Humboldt-University of Berlin. In his undergraduate studies, he focused on global inequalities and economic transformation in colonial and postcolonial Southern and Eastern Africa. His understanding of these topics was further deepened during a semester abroad at the University of Dar es Salaam. Additionally, he is interested in questions of identity and the re-formulation of capitalism over the last centuries. In the Global History program, he wants to strengthen his methodological approach of historic research and writing, while putting an emphasis on global interconnectedness.
