Philine Apenburg, originally from Germany, graduated with a MA in History and Politics from the University of Glasgow, Scotland.  In her undergraduate studies she focused on the history of the Cold War as well as on international and security politics. For her thesis she worked on the European Union’s strategic culture and the EU’s military missions in Africa. She is studying Global History in order to broaden her historical perspective and to further focus on Cold War dynamics in the Middle East in addition to mass violence, genocide and warfare in the 20th century.
