William Allen (she/they) is from Rochester, New York. She received her BA in history from the State University of New York at Geneseo. She did her undergraduate thesis on the medicalization of gender nonconformity and sex reassignment surgery in Apartheid era South Africa. Allen’s main areas of interest are in global (trans)gender and queer histories. They are especially interested in history which integrates critical and social theories, and which engages with contemporary political, social, and environmental issues.
