Theresa completed her bachelor's degree in history and social sciences at the Humboldt University in Berlin with a focus on women's history and microhistory. She wrote her thesis about discourses around homosexuality in Bavaria 1871-1918, following the case of a young soldier being investigated by military authorities.

She is particularly interested in antiquity and early modernity. In this program, she hopes to widen her scope of methodological approaches, especially in bringing queer theory to historical research and how to apply a global perspective to microhistorical, local research.

In her free time, Theresa loves to read and write poetry.
