Syuan-Ya Syu received her Bachelor of Arts in History from National Cheng Kung University in Tainan, Taiwan. In her fourth year of bachelor degree, she was selected as a visiting research student by the Ministry of Education Taiwan to study in University of Tübingen.

In October 2023,  Syuan-Ya joined the MA Global History program, in which she aims to broaden her research skills in order to integrate her academic knowledge. 

Syuan-Ya’s research interests center around the history of emotions, 19th century cultural history, and cultural heritage.
