Hailing from Pakistan, Hassan holds a first degree in Engineering and dual Masters in History & Philosophy with a focus on South Asia, and its Intellectual History. At the MA Global History program he wants to explore history within a global context, beyond the parochial gaze of regional/national history and to become cognizant of Eurocentrism in history whilst deepening his knowledge of historiography, theory and methodology. Lastly, Hassan's primary research interest is in "History of Ideas" with a focus on "leading ideas" (J. Royce's term) in Metahistory, Intellectual History, World History, History of Religion, Islamic History, History & Philosophy of Science and History & Philosophy of Technology.
