Sherin did her BA in History and Culture of the Middle East with emphasis on Islamic Studies at Freie Universität Berlin which she concluded with a thesis on "Equality in the Qur’an by the example of the verses about the paradise". She is specifically interested in the history of ideas, while her regional focuses is placed on the Middle East and the wider Islamic world.
