Selma Hertz

Selma Hertz studied History and Social Sciences at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and the Boğaziçi Üniversitesi in Istanbul. She works as a student assistant at the Department of History (IfG) on the history of the entanglements of Western Europe in the 20th century. In 2022, she prepared an exhibition on the colonial history of Berlin’s universities. Her current research interests include transnational anticolonial networks, (Post)Colonialism and Orientalism, European relations with the Arab world, and Intellectual History. By studying Global History, she hopes to deepen her understanding of transnational perspectives and make a contribution to the field.
