Reuben Henry Owen Pierrepoint

Reuben is originally from Wales but recently completed his Bachelor's in History and International Relations at Exeter University with an Erasmus year at Mannheim University. He wrote his undergraduate dissertation on British perspectives on Soviet nationality policy in the Central Asian republics in the inter-war period, and within IR has focused on intra-state conflict and human security.

Reuben's current interests include the relationship between colonialism and nationalism, transnational social history, and the formation of regional identity in early-modern and modern Europe. He has come to Berlin to pursue an MA in Global History as he wishes to explore the connections between global processes and local histories, as well as to gain a broader understanding of global connections in the pre-modern world.

Outside of his studies he enjoys cycling, playing music, and the odd bit of astro-photography.
