Philipp Schädler, originally from Germany, completed his BA in History, History and Culture of the Middle East, and North American Studies at the Freie Universität Berlin. During his undergraduate studies, his research focused on colonialism and imperialism in the 19^th and 20^th centuries, with a special emphasis on the Middle East. Philipp is studying Global History in order to broaden his historical perspective and to acquire a better understanding of the transnational and global connections that form our understanding of the past. His regional focus continues to be the Middle East.
