Mascha Menzel

Mascha graduated from University of Hamburg with a bachelor's degree in Sinology. Her main research interest is 20th century China, specifically the periods of the civil war and WWII. She has written her bachelor thesis on Guomindang policy toward European Jewish refugees during 1938-1947. Other scholarly interests are the history of gender and sexuality, and queer representation in Chinese and Maghrebian literature. She has chosen to study the Master's program of Global History to broaden her knowledge on global interconnections to embed them in her own research. In her free time, Mascha likes to draw and to travel.
