Hey! My name is Manouk and I come from the Netherlands. For the past four years I have studied Cultural Anthropology and Development Sociology at Utrecht University. During my bachelors, I have primarily focused on topics like gender, sexuality and violence. During the last months of my bachelors I conducted three months of fieldwork in Kigali, Rwanda, evaluating the support offered by a Dutch NGO. Within the Global History programme, I want to focus on recent historical events as well as specializing in oral history. Oral history seems like the perfect way of combining my anthropological past (with participant observation and in-depth interviewing) with my affinities for history and peoples' stories. One of the things I like to do most is to collect stories and experiences from different kinds of people, enriching my knowledge in that way.
