Luc Wodzicki focuses his research on the relations and representations of 'Islam', the Ottoman Empire, and 'Europe' in literature and art of the so called Renaissance as well as on Muslims in medieval Italy and Sicily. He received his BA in Islamic Studies from the Freie Universität Berlin in 2011. His thesis examined state-controlled feminism and the role of women in the emergence of the Turkish Republic. After working for the Jewish Museum Berlin (2010-2013), he is currently a student research assistant at the Max-Planck-Institute for Human Development.
