Louise Thatcher

Louise completed a BA (Honors) at the University of Sydney. Her BA thesis was on an attempt in the 1840s to use indentured Pacific Islanders as workers in New South Wales and the debates this sparked in the colony and metropole about race, bonded versus free labor, cannibalism, respectable appetite and social reproduction. She is interested in global histories of migration, race, labor and border controls.
