Lisa Phongsavath

Lisa Phongsavath completed her BA in History and German at the Australian National University in Canberra, Australia. Her interests are in colonial history, race relations, migration, minorities and culture, especially in Southeast Asia and settler-colonial societies. She chose to take part in the Global History MA programme to move away from the limitations of national histories and to study Southeast-Asian colonial history through a German/European lens. Lisa hopes to explore cultural histories of the Indochinese Peninsula and gain a greater knowledge of cross-cultural entanglements within the region. Alongside her studies, she works at Facts & Files Historical Research Institute Berlin in the fields of Digital History and History Communication.
