Lars graduated from the University of Erfurt in International Relations in 2018. His field of study primarily focused on the effectiveness of the United Nations, especially with regard to its role in the decolonisation process and the protection of minorities. During his undergraduate program he has joined the National University of Yokohama for a year in order to learn about Japanese security and foreign policy in Asia. He has chosen the Global History MA in Berlin as it allows him to closely interact with other like-minded international students and enables him to further focus on the history of foreign, intergovernmental and minority policies in East Asia.
