Joshua P. Cavanaugh completed his Bachelor’s degree in history & Christianity at the University of North Carolina at Chapel where his research covered topics from African-American identity in the Black church to the aesthetic theory of early Renaissance icons.

Previously he worked as a community organizer at the Human Rights Center and in 2015 he was an Episcopal Service Corps Fellow at St. Paul’s Cathedral in Boston where he served as the minister for mission, collaborating on initiatives for LGBTQ rights, anti-racism education, and community development.

His research interests include postcolonial theory, global Christianity, and peace & conflict studies. In the Global History MA he seeks to explore the intersection of academia and social justice by researching the social histories of global peace movements.
