Jack (John) Galloway is a native of Louisville, Kentucky. He graduated from McGill University in Montreal, Quebec in 2010 with a BA in History and Literature. He taught English in Iserlohn, NRW in 2011-2012 and has been an American history teacher in Shenzhen, Guangdong since 2013. His decision to take part in the Global History MA program was informed by his personal global experiences as well as a desire to get away from the national narratives that had been central to his experience of history as a student and a teacher. The ability to take a global approach to area studies also attracted him to the program, as his primary interests are in 20th century Chinese history.
