After years as a language teacher in Manila, Jedd moved to Berlin in 2011 for a new start. She holds two Bachelor’s degrees: one in German Studies from the University of the Philippines and another in Regional Studies with a focus on Africa and minor in Gender Studies from the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. Her experience as an immigrant informs her academic interests in migration flows, collective identity, gender and religion. Jedd is pursuing her MA in Global History in order to learn how to critically look at the world, its gaps and complexities and understand their effects on the local and the personal.
