I studied History and Political Science at the Free University Berlin from 2020 to 2024. In my bachelor thesis I analyzed how West German musicians attempted to use avantgarde music to distance themselves politically from National Socialism as well as to align themselves with “the West” during the early Cold War.

During my studies, I have been particularly curious about politics in supposedly unpolitical spaces. Which role does culture play in the means of gaining (geo)political influence? How does political hegemony relate to cultural interaction? Through the Global History Master I hope to enrich this focus point by transnational perspectives and to deepen my knowledge of different geographical areas.
