Born and raised across the Atlantic Ocean, I received my BA in Middle Eastern Studies with a focus on Turkology from the University of Hamburg.

Up to now, I have worked on topics dealing with the histories of ethnic and religious minorities from and in modern-day Turkey (Jews, Armenians, Syrians and Alevis in particular), Turkish nationalism as a fascist ideology, and the history of revolutionary communist movements in the Middle East, Europe and the Americas.

In the context of the MA Global History program, for the time being, I am interested in researching the historical processes behind national self-determination movements in modern-day Turkey, and Imperial Russia and the early Soviet Union. Additionally, I am very keen on the history of the Revolutionary Internationalist Movement, an international communist organisation founded in the 1980s, and the contributions of its member parties across five continents to the synthesis of Marxist-Leninist-Maoist ideology with a specific focus on its middle eastern membership.
