I’m from the UK and graduated from the University of Oxford in 2020 with a degree in History. For my dissertation I researched the industrial employment policies of the left-wing administration of the Greater London Council, in the early 1980s, which challenged Thatcher’s government through radical social and economic policies (before she abolished it!). For the last few years I was working at community organisations in the UK, as a community worker in areas of high health inequalities, then more recently at a food bank/mutual aid organisation. I was also involved in political work through a local tenants union in Oxford. I’m excited to be living in Berlin, and to get the chance to study again, with a particular interest in social movements, labour history, anti-colonialism and histories of neoliberalism.
