Terri Harel

Terri Harel has spent the last ten years working at the intersection of technology, media and social impact. Most recently, she was the executive director of a nonprofit that supports journalists facing online harassment. There, she developed journalist resources and led research about the current state of online harassment, disinformation and its effects on individuals, the media and society. She has also led product marketing at a social enterprise, co-founded a project for nonprofits to map their impact and served as the managing editor at a nonprofit news venture. 

Terri graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a degree in Political Economy. She’s currently interested in the history of the Internet and its connections to identity, memory, emotions and nationalism.
