George Payne

George Payne graduated from the University of Exeter with a Bachelor of Arts in History and Spanish. As part of his studies, he spent a year in Chile and the experience created a lasting impression.

Current research interests include Latin American history, the evolution of (neo)liberal thought and transnational conservative networks. Through the MA Global History programme, George seeks to gain an understanding of the latest scholarship and make a contribution to the field.

George works as a student assistant at the Junior Research Group “Peripheral Liberalism”, part of the Cluster of Excellence SCRIPTS. He is also on the editorial board for the student journal Die junge Mommsen.
