Gabriel Schimmeroth completed a Studium Generale at Leibniz Kolleg, Tübingen, and studied History, Political Science and Business Administration at the University of Mannheim, Ruprecht-Karls-University Heidelberg, and the University of Windsor/Ontario. Within the Global History program he has placed his regional focus on Sub-Saharan Africa. His main areas of interest are Postcolonial Studies, Cultural and Urban History of the 1970s and 1980s, and Transnational Museum Studies.
