Gabor Gericke

Gabor Gericke was born in Chemnitz, Germany. He earned a BA in Social Sciences from Sciences Po Paris specializing in History and Political Theory. As part of his undergraduate studies, he spent two semesters at the University of Santiago de Chile, where he explored topics such as the history of the Chilean Left in the 20th century. This experience introduced him to key frameworks in Chilean new social history (Nueva Historia Social chilena), cultural history, and debates on decolonial thought.

Gabor’s academic interests focus on epistemologies and methodologies that foster critical engagement with contemporary issues, despite the prevalence of neoliberalism in academia. During the Global History MA program, he intends to deepen his understanding of recent Latin American history and looks forward to new intellectual encounters.
