Hi! I’m Evelin (Chinese: Rongshao Xu, they/she). Before I came to FU Berlin I studied in China and obtained a bachelor's degree in history. During my undergraduate program, my main focus was on modern Historiography and Historical Theories, especially about several key concepts and academic trends in contemporary century philosophy of history such as the debate on historical explanation and the “linguistic turn”. Now, in the Global History program, I hope to delve into another adjacent and more empirical field which can be ascribed as an intellectual history concentrating on interactions between Historiography and Nationalism in 19th and 20th centuries under a global perspective.
