I did my BA at the University of Heidelberg where I studied East Asian Studies and Political Science. In my BA thesis I looked into the writing of Han-Chinese literati, who had been exiled to Manchuria in the 17th century, and how their reflected on their notions of ethnicity and identity in these texts. The work on this subject spurred my interest in intellectual history and especially the formation of (group) identities. By joining the MA Global History program, I hope to broaden my academic horizon and get new insights on theories and methodology.
