Carla Schmidt

From 2019 till 2023 I studied History and as a minor subject Political Science at the University of Leipzig. I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in History. In 2021 I spent one semester in the beautiful city of Prague as an Erasmus student at Charles University. During that time and during my internship at the Museum Pankow, where I worked on a project about the Czech journalist and communist Julius Fučík, I discovered my interest in Central and Eastern European history. My focus so far has been mostly on the history of the twentieth century. With my studies in Global History I hope to get to know a less Eurocentric historiography and to deepen my knowledge of theory and methodology. I would also like to learn more about approaches that combine global history with gender history and/or microhistory.
