Bella Ruhl

Bella received her BA in History from the University of Arizona, with minors in Art History and Costume Design. After working in art, history, and material culture museums in the USA, she wanted to broaden her historical outlook and challenge the eurocentrism of her previous education. Her many research interests include gender and sexuality histories (social construction and performance, women and trans studies), the social history of designed objects (primarily fashion and ephemera), aesthetics, 'alternative' pedagogies, and orientalism in popular culture.
