My name is Ardan. I'm an international student originally from İstanbul, Turkey. I graduated from the University of Melbourne in Australia, majoring in history and economics. I am interested in modern history, that is roughly the last two centuries, for its relevance to the world we live in today. I chose and have been enjoying the Global History programme for its flexibility in specialisation and approach that goes beyond the boundaries of the nation-states, while being in Berlin is the cherry on top. As most students of various social sciences, I am yet to figure out what to do afterwards but digitalisation of historical sources might be a promising area for the following decade. In any case it's nice to be here and to be a student of two distinguished universities at the same time. Perhaps the additional bureaucracy that comes along with it may be a downside but that is not an unusual for Germany anyway...
