Anna Thewalt, originally from Mainz, studied history and German literature at the Technical University of Dresden. Her interests are in the culture of memory, postcolonial studies and migration. After completing her Bachelor’s degree she took a gap year working for the Körber Foundation in Hamburg, studying Arabic and hitchhiking through the United States. Anna views the Global History MA as a great opportunity to broaden her knowledge about the interconnectedness of the world beyond national and mental borders and to have discussions with students from all over the world.
