Aditya hails from the Himalayan town of Nainital in India and is a History Graduate from St. Xavier's College, Mumbai. He is interested in Heritage Studies and was involved in a lot of activities pertaining to Heritage Management while he was in Mumbai.

Aditya believes that to be able to understand local developments in a better manner, it is important to view the local spheres not in isolation but from a global perspective too. The web of interconnectedness that the budding field of Global History had to offer led him to pursue this joint Master's course at Freie Universität Berlin and Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin.
