Huseyin Umut holds a BA in History from Istanbul Bilgi University and an MA in Eurasian Studies from Middle East Technical University where he studied the political and security dimensions of Islamism phenomena in broader Central Asia. His main interest lies in understanding the history of the globalization process and its discontents. In Global History MA program, he wishes to combine his previous studies and further explore the ideological roots of anti-globalization movement and its relation with the formation of nationalisms in Global South.
