Dimitrios Mitsopoulos

Mitsopoulos

Mitsopoulos

My name is Dimitris Mitsopoulos and I come from Greece. I obtained my BA in History, with Honors, at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. During my undergraduate studies, I was mainly interested in Jewish and Mediterranean History, Ottoman Empire, Migration, Economic History, while the last years I turned my focus also to Public History and Digital Humanities.

I decided to pursue my studies in the MA in Global History as I aim to explore the trajectories between local factors and global phenomena. I believe that our ways of understanding and interpreting the Jewish Sephardic History, the history of commercial and migration networks can be expanded and reexamined through the lens of Global History and with the use of Digital Humanities tools.

My studies in Berlin are generously supported from Deutscher Akademischer Austausch Dienst(DAAD).
