Alec carver grew up in Florida, graduating with honors from the University of Florida in 2017. He studied history with a focus on Jewish experiences and political violence in 20th century Europe.

He came to the Global History program to expand his education beyond Euro- and Western-centrism and to get away from the heat. That last part turned out to be a mistake.

He is interested in political violence, historical memory, and in the global rise of right-wing movements after 1991.
