Aileen Gerloff did her BA in History and Japanese Studies and has always been passionate about Africa. She is now focusing on that region with a special interest in Eastern Africa and has started studying Swahili. Aileen first became interested in global entanglements when she researched Japanese development aid in Africa. She is enthusiastic about the MA program as a means of expanding her own regional interests while also collaborating with students specializing in diverse topics.
