As an undergraduate, Marius studied pre- and early modern European history at Humboldt-University Berlin and University College London. Out of general interest he began taking courses in modern and classical Chinese in 2010. Recently, he has started learning Korean and Japanese and is now focusing on the history of East Asia in the 19th and 20th century. Since 2008, Marius has been holding a scholarship from the German National Academic Foundation (Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes). He has worked in heritage protection and public relations, translated academic articles and is currently a research assistant.
