Karl received his Bachelor´s degree in History and English studies from the Freie Universität Berlin in 2018. In 2016, he was awarded a grant to study abroad for a year at Duke University, North Carolina. While his research interests encompass a multitude of time periods and topics, including the Early Modern period, his Bachelor´s thesis dealt with German internment during the First World War in the United States. By studying in the Global History Master´s program, Karl hopes to deepen his understanding of both the history of global entanglements as well as current methodological approaches and methods.
