Connor studied Anthropology and History at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and the University of Chicago. His thesis examined the afterlives of early-modern Jewish and Muslim pasts in contemporary Spain. At FU, Connor hopes to delve more deeply into the global history of Iberian empires across Asia and the Atlantic world. He maintains thematic interests in diasporas, mercantile networks, and the philosophy of history. In Berlin, Connor aims to learn more about the analytical possibilities afforded by global-historical approaches to the study of the past.
